Why is it so easy to create things when they aren't for my MA?
• A card for a friend's birthday.
• A painting of my mechanical bird.
• Some preparation for my screenprinting course.
Tonight I'll do work on inventions...

an afternoon in a graveyard
Today I went drawing at Woodvale Crematorium with Yumi. It was very beautiful there - the sun was shining and we saw lots of wildlife (including some butterflies, woodlice & a fox). We weren't very impressed with the pond but we did rather like the wide selection of trees:
The blossom smelt lovely!
Yumi drew some wonderfully colourful flowers & I drew some of the chapel spires which I could see above the tree tops.
Next week we are trying to recruit some fellow cyclists for a trip along the cuckoo trail.

pots
On Friday night I went to a dinner party & yumi made a rather delicious japanese curry pot for us all to enjoy. I promised I would bring pudding and cobbled together these mini blueberry cheesecakes (after first going on a charity shop trip to find some suitable pots).
And I think it was a success! Everyone finished them at least. Much better than the time i made the disastrous peppermint creams, or when me and Chris made a cake that was as thin as a biscuit.
I'm learning...

what treats!
Some lucky finds from a recent charity shop hunt.
A mini basket:
I might use it to take an apple and a banana to work with me.
And this letter file:
I love it very much and am now awaiting some nice post to fill it with!

activity day
On Easter Sunday we had an egg painting activity hour and here are the results:
Clockwise from top left: Eggwina Curry by Danni, a Jackson Pollock egg by Tim, a proper gent by me & a pretty little bug by derek.
Good effort no?
Hope you all had a nice easter - I still have a chocolate bunny & kitten left to eat...which one first though? I can't decide.

easter is upon us...
Some things that have happened already today:
• I had my first hot cross bun of the year and it was good.
• My landlord has amazed me by finally beginning to tidy the yard outside my window...maybe one day soon I'll have a pleasant view from my bedroom.
• I stumbled across this website and it pleased me greatly.

eggcellent
We had an easter party on saturday - it was pretty special indeed!
We made baked goods and hid treats around our flat inside little origami boxes. Some had chocolate eggs inside, some had jokes by me & Yumi, and some had the odd special prize (like a penny).
Here are some of the decorations we made for our house:
The bunting is mainly down to Rosie who did all of the sewing and provided most of the delightful fabric. Though I did use my newly acquired screen printing skills to add the odd chicken into the mix:
I also painted some eggs for the wall:
And found a selection of these paper lanterns in a charity shop in Kemp town which added a nice finishing touch to our lounge:
I think we are going to keep the decorations up for a while now as our house feels a lot more summery and pleasant with them! After all, how can you have a bad day when there's bunting hanging overhead.
