llovely llamas

llovely

I hope you all had a lovely long Easter weekend.

It was perfect spring weather on Monday so we went on a drive to the Ashdown Forest and popped into the Llama park while we were there.

It's definitely worth a visit - the llamas and alpacas are so cute! And really friendly too (particularly if you have some food).

Just look how fluffy they are!

Their necks are super woolly when you stroke them.

I'm in love.

There were some other sweet animals too. Some (stinky but cute) piglets, guinea fowl, donkeys, and some super friendly goats. Like this one...

Nosy.

It was great to feel the warmth of the sun too.
I think the spring has finally made a breakthrough this week!

nice easter

I hope you've all had a grand bank holiday.
I've upped my food intake by about 100% so am feeling very satisfied.
The weekend also included cycling, cats chasing bumblebees and scrabble. GOOD TIMES!
(Just don't mention Jonathan Creek.)

activity day

On Easter Sunday we had an egg painting activity hour and here are the results:

Clockwise from top left: Eggwina Curry by Danni, a Jackson Pollock egg by Tim, a proper gent by me & a pretty little bug by derek.

Good effort no?

Hope you all had a nice easter - I still have a chocolate bunny & kitten left to eat...which one first though? I can't decide.

easter is upon us...

Some things that have happened already today:

• I had my first hot cross bun of the year and it was good.

• My landlord has amazed me by finally beginning to tidy the yard outside my window...maybe one day soon I'll have a pleasant view from my bedroom.

• I stumbled across this website and it pleased me greatly.

eggcellent

We had an easter party on saturday - it was pretty special indeed!

We made baked goods and hid treats around our flat inside little origami boxes. Some had chocolate eggs inside, some had jokes by me & Yumi, and some had the odd special prize (like a penny).

Here are some of the decorations we made for our house:

The bunting is mainly down to Rosie who did all of the sewing and provided most of the delightful fabric. Though I did use my newly acquired screen printing skills to add the odd chicken into the mix:

I also painted some eggs for the wall:

And found a selection of these paper lanterns in a charity shop in Kemp town which added a nice finishing touch to our lounge:

I think we are going to keep the decorations up for a while now as our house feels a lot more summery and pleasant with them! After all, how can you have a bad day when there's bunting hanging overhead.
