swans a-swimming

Today I did some cycling training (finally) and rode along the coast to Worthing. Now I have 24 miles under my belt, a slightly broken bicycle and sunburnt hands.

It was a nice trip though - I walked along the pier in Worthing and saw four swans making their way around it in the sea.

rhubarb rhubarb

Sometimes it's easier to talk about nonsense than to say what you actually think.
And sometimes it's easier to make things instead:

Yumi & I had some further adventures in the kitchen on Wednesday, and cooked dinner for the men who had been out at work all day (it's a hard life).

Thank you kindly to Matt for the donation of rhubarb from his allotment - very very tasty!

il pleut

Some days I really don't mind if it rains. Just not at the weekend please.

out of sorts

It's been almost 5 months since I moved in and I'm still in the process of deciding where things should go. I also still have one box remaining to unpack. I'm not sure that one will ever get done, although there's nothing like an unsettling week to make you want to sort things out.

Oh well.

guess who?

I forgot to mention this at the time (due to gift-giving secrecy) but my memory was refreshed at the weekend when we played a couple of games. It's a personalised version of Guess Who? I made for Derek at Christmas.

Fun to make, fun to play (and ever so slightly creepy)!

let's swap

On Friday Yumi and I got our Fifty-Two artwork back and decided to do a mini swap on the beach. I ended up with this lovely picture of two seagulls which is now hanging above my desk. It's good to trade!

My brother suggested afterwards that we should maybe organise a BIG art swap on the beach, which is an idea I'm very keen on. I'm picturing a big meet up with picnic snacks and enough swapping so that everyone goes home with a new handmade treasure. Any takers?

I've just spent a large portion of the weekend on the beach which is truly a sign of summer being almost here. We also had the first barbecue of the year (or the decade as derek pointed out!). What a treat!

I think this may actually be my favourite time of year.

nice easter

I hope you've all had a grand bank holiday.
I've upped my food intake by about 100% so am feeling very satisfied.
The weekend also included cycling, cats chasing bumblebees and scrabble. GOOD TIMES!
(Just don't mention Jonathan Creek.)

less is more

I got a golden half camera for my birthday and have just finished my first roll of film.
Full of party pictures - fun times!

mothering sunday

My mum likes Michael Schumacher very much.
For mother's day on Sunday I arranged for him to come back and race for Formula 1.
He didn't win, but it was a good start.

spring (possibly)

Signs of spring:
• Cycling without mittens.
• Itchy hayfever eyes.
• Summer festival planning.

We'll be knitting on the beach in no time...

saturday afternoon

Yesterday was productive in a relaxing way (unlike the rest of the week). I worked on my exhibition pieces whilst listening to the Traveling Wilburys and drinking tea.

I'm hoping for more of the same today...

london to brighton

Today I signed up to the London to Brighton Bike Ride.
I'm not sure it was the best idea, but I said I was going to do it so I really should give it a go.

I just hope it doesn't rain.
